KENTUCKY!

March 1st Brooklyn and I took off for Kentucky to visit Mitch, Lindsey, and Makenzie! Bryant was heading to Boston with his class to visit some design firms the first week of March so that's why we went, but to get the best price on plane tickets if I stayed a couple more days then it would be cheaper. Bryant was having a hard time thinking of being away from Brooklyn for over a week but said to do it. THEN if I just stayed 3 more days I'd be able to be there for Makenzie's first birthday and my mom would be able to see both her grand-babies together. So that is how my 5 day trip turned into 11! :) And it was very worth it. (You'd have to ask Bry if he feels the same!)

Bryant had to be in class Monday morning and had a huge project he had to send to Under Armor for an internship due Monday night, so he wasn't able to take Brookie and I to the airport. We had to be to the airport by 4:30am and our flight took off at 5:50am. Sunday night we slept at the Klug's house and Monday morning my mom took us to the airport. I made her come in because I was really nervous getting checked in. This was Brooklyn's first time flying and I was going to be doing it alone. Scary! Plus she's had the ear infections so I didn't know how she was going to do. Good news, she was AWESOME! I couldn't have been more blessed. Never once did she cry on any of the 4 flights. I knew other people were worried she was going to bother them because each time you landed the other passengers would walk by and just praise her and tell me how great was did. :) They doubted her. Our flight out of Salt Lake to MinnesotaI would say I was the most nervous not knowing how the take off would go, but she fell asleep during deicing. She woke up for the last hour and was playing peek-a-boo with the lady across the isle, who was 4 people away from us. She also made friends with the lady sitting next to me. She liked her so much she asked for her knuckies! :) (Briefly she's obsessed with knuckles, or as my father-in-law would say knuckle skin. Ever since she was little the knuckle skin has been her comfort thing. She just pinches your knuckle skin. Weird I know. When she started talking she would just say 'knuck' and reached for your knuckles. It has now transformed into knuckies and she's asking for strangers knuckies! If she asks it means she likes you.) We had a 4 hour lay over, but it wasn't bad because Bryant's Grandma Lois came to visit us. I was praying Brooklyn wouldn't be shy around her, and she wasn't. She walked up to her took her hand and started walking. We ate brunch together and talked, Brooklyn played with Grandma's knuckies, and then we had to go back through security. It was so good to see Grandma Lois, thanks for coming! The second flight she was awake for take off and still did just fine. She watched "Monkeys/Tarzan" and was very happy. The pilot said we are now starting our descent and I told Brooklyn we're going to see Makenzie as soon as we land and she smiled. I covered Brooklyn's ears just incase the pressure change hurts her and I look down and she had fallen asleep. She slept in my arms as I got off the plane and retrieved my checked bag and walked out to Lindsey's car. I was shocked. I couldn't of done it if this cute old man hadn't helped me walk my bag out. Brooklyn woke up when I put her in the car seat and saw Makenzie next to her. It was so cute they were smiling at each other. Friends from the start. The car ride to Lindsey's place they shared their binkys back and forth. It was funny. Our flight out of Louisville to Nashville Brooklyn fell asleep mid take off. It was crazy. It was so loud and shaking bad and she just laid her head on me and was out. She slept that whole flight which I'm glad. It was the smallest plane and no offense to the lady sitting next to me cause she was super nice, but she was really big and there wasn't a lot of room. It was even difficult with Brooklyn asleep cause she'd tried to stretch out but couldn't. So now our last flight was just over 3 hours and she was awake the whole time. She had tons of energy. She'd watch Tarzan for a minute and then color and eat, but her favorite thing was to just look out the window. It was cute but I was very tired and wanted to sleep. I tried getting her to sleep but it wasn't happening. She did great so that's ok. That is the summary of our travel days now on to the fun stuff.

MONDAY
March 1

Travel Day!
Salt Lake Airport 4:30am.

First plane ride.

Meeting up with Grandma Lois
in Minnesota.

Brunch

Brooklyn took this picture.
She loves cameras.

She asked for Grandma's knuckies :)

Grandma gave Brookie a gift.

It's a neck pillow for the plane :)
Thanks Grandma.

Looking at the pics they took.

All of us :)

Minneapolis Airport had a cool
little play place for kids. She's a
pilot!

Now she's a truck driver.

Watching airplanes and talking to daddy
on the phone.

She's giving him a kiss!

Kentucky here we come.

First time seeing Linds.

TUESDAY
March 2
Lazy day! We just relaxed at Lindsey's apartment and let the girls play. I really needed this, I was exhausted after getting up at 3:3oam Monday and flying and then we stayed up till like 1am. We stayed up late pretty much every night.

Brooklyn gave Makenzie lots of hugs.

Mitch and the girls.

Brooklyn was attached to Mitch right away.
When he was at school she'd go around the house
yelling Mitch Mitch. And if Linds would yell for
him to come and he didn't, she'd yell Mitch and
then go right up to him and say come. :)

Brooklyn loved this spot. It's between
the bean bag and the tv.

Playing hide-n-seek with Makenzie. I was
very impressed with how long she sat there
waiting for Makenzie to come find here.

She did it :)

Bath Time!

Hugs before bed.

WEDNESDAY
March 3
We went to both of the malls by Lindsey's apartment and then ran some errands.

They loved playing in the pack and
play together!

THURSDAY
March 4
Movie Day! We took the girls and saw Dear John. Good movie. It worked out great because both of the girls slept through the whole movie. So we were able to watch and enjoy the movie. We also went to the party store and picked up some things for Makenzie's first birthday party. :)

Brooklyn pushing Makenzie around the
party store. We're getting things for
Makenzie's party :)

Sharing yougurt. This was a daily occurrence.

FRIDAY
March 5
We made tons and tons of sugar cookies for Makenzie's birthday party. I don't have the pictures of the final project but I'll get them from Lindsey they turned out so cute. Linds had to work that night so Mitch and I took the little girlies to Chili's to see her in action.

Linds let Brooklyn help.

Lindsey patted flour on Brookies
tummy so she had to try it too.

Brooklyn started getting tired and needed
Aunt Lindsey's knuckies. Look how talented
Linds is. She can make cookies with one
hand :)

Makenzie decided she wanted to help too.

Making cookies together :)

They're little flowers.

SATURDAY
March 6
On Saturday we went to Huber's Farm. That's in Indiana. (States we were in this trip: Minnesota, Kentucky, Indiana, and Tennessee) There was supposed to be like a petting zoo and stuff but the farm was mostly shut down. We feed some ducks at a little pond and walked around the gift shop. It's a very cool farm. Then Mitch took us to the Ohio River Falls. The only part of the whole river that is white water. We had a little picnic lunch there and then drove around downtown Louisville. Mitch was the tour guide. He was very excited about the drive. I really enjoyed it.

She loved having Uncle Mitch sit
by her. I love how she's looking
at him :)

The girls at Huber's Farm.

Feeding the ducks.

My pretty sister Lindsey Lou
in the gift shop.

Brooklyn loved the fish in the gift shop.

Ohio River Falls

Eating lunch.

In a tree :)

When we got back from the farm and river
Lindsey had to go to work. Mitch fell asleep.

And so did Brooklyn!

So Makenzie and I played. She
loved my phone.

Sunday
March 7th
Mitch was sick Sunday so Lindsey and I took the girls to church. Brooklyn was going crazy so most of the time we were in the hall. I finally just took her outside and we walked around the Temple. Their church and Temple share the same parking lot. Then when we got home we went swimming at the pool in the apartment complex.

Getting ready for church.

Hugs!!!

Ready to go.

Louisville Temple

She's a little poser. She put her legs up and
smiled at me. I'm so mad I cut her legs off.
Still cute though.

After Church Mitch spun them around on his computer chair. They were loving it. I'll have to get the video from Lindsey because it's so funny. When they stopped spinning Makenzie's eyes would shake back and forth and then one time Brooklyn got down and ran straight into the wall!

Brooklyn's spinning Makenzie.

This is when Mitch spun her and then
she ran into the wall :)

I can't remember if this is before or after
Lindsey dropped the girls while pushing
them around in the chair ;)

Getting ready to go swimming.
The girls were so good in the water. They loved it.

Monday
March 8th
Monday morning Lindsey and I went with the girls to get our hair cut. Then we came home and let the girls take a nap before we left for the zoo. They slept for ever. We were originally thinking of getting to the zoo around 1:30 but I think we weren't there until 4. (is that right Linds?) Makenzie just didn't want to wake up, but that's ok. The Louisville Zoo was so cool. I really loved it and we all had a great time. It was like 70 degrees that day, so perfect.

Louisville Zoo

When we first got there Lindsey said, "Don't freak out but there is a bee on Brooklyn's shoe!"
I froze and Lindsey had to take care of it. We had a plan. Lindsey was going to swat the bee off the shoe and I was going to take off running, with the girls of course! :) So we went 1, 2, 3 and I took off. Lindsey was yelling stop stop it's on Makenzie! The bee just jumped girls. So we did it again. This time the bee was MAD. Lindsey killed it in the air it was awesome. Good times :)

Lindsey figuring out which way to go.

First animal of the day!

Looking at the Rhino's.

As soon as we saw the Elephants Brooklyn
started yelling Elphant, Elphant, Elphant!

Brooklyn was scared of the elephant statue.

But Makenzie didn't mind it :)

I love this picture!

Brooklyn was so excited to see the
monkeys!

Makenzie eating a Banana cracker to
fit in with the monkeys :)

Giving her mama a hug :)

These next 2 are really cute!

I can't even tell you how excited Brooklyn was
to see the Gorilla's. She pointed at them and said
HOO HOO E AW HOO
(She watches Tarzan)

Brooklyn learned to roar at the tiger. But
hers is a really sweet RAW. It's cute :)

Snack break.

We stopped at the play ground to
let Brooklyn play.

This was so cute. Brooklyn looked at the hole
in the tunnel and saw Lindsey and Makenzie.
She yelled, "Winsey, Winsey Look!"

How precious is this?!

She was to slow, the zoo was closing.

After the zoo we stopped at Babies-R-us
so Linds could buy Makenzie's Bday present
and Brooklyn saw Elmo and had to ride.

We wore them out!

Tuesday
March 9th
Bake Day! We made 6 or 7 dozen homemade cupcakes for Makenzie's birthday party. Then we had to run to the airport to pick up my mom. It was fun to see her with her two grandkids. Lindsey had to go to achievement days so my mom and I played with the girls in the hall for an hour. After that we met Mitch at Cheddar's for dinner.

Makenzie was taking a nap so here is how
we kept Brooklyn entertained while
we baked.
1. Playing in Makenzie's jumper
2. Watching 'Monkey's'
3. Watching Disney songs on youtube.

Ready to go get Grandma.
(I love this picture)

Here we come Grandma!

Chilling at the church.

Dinner at Cheddar's

Wednesday
March 10
MAKENZIE'S FIRST BIRTHDAY! :) We took the girls to JcPenny to get pictures taken and we surprised my mom for her Birthday we had her get in some with Brooklyn and Makenzie. Then we went home and got everything ready for the party. Danielle flew in at 11:30pm so Linds and I went and picked her up. I packed up stuff since I was leaving at 11 the next morning.

The Party.
This is the finished products of all our hard work.
They all turned out so cute.

Brooklyn loved Makenzie's couch/bed

Thurday
March 11
Travel Day 2!
In the morning we let the girls just run around in the tutu's and play while we all watched. Then Lindsey and Danielle took Brookies and I to the airport.

Eating a pretzel on our lay over in Tenn.

She loved to stare out the window.

She loved seeing Daddy!

The day we got home it was Grandpa Paul's birthday
so we took him to Leatherby's for dinner and ice cream.

Brookies and I were exhausted from the traveling so we decided to sleep in West Jordan and then drive home to Provo the next day. Here Bryant and Brooklyn are napping and then loading up the car to go home and conclude our vacation!

I am so glad we took this vacation. It was so much fun to stay with Mitch and Lindsey. We had a great time. I feel bad Bryant had to be away from Brooklyn for so long, I know it was hard on him. So thank you Bryant for letting us go!!!

(I'm not sure why it started underlining and I can't get it to go away sorry)
