Carmel Dip!
Last Sunday we made our first carmel dip of the season, and it was DELICIOUS! I love this time of year :)
Book a Week: Anything Halloween
This week was anything Halloween related. So we read an assortment of books. On Wednesday was our ward Halloween party and Trunk-or-Treat. I was making some things for their costumes and originally thought the party was on Halloween so Monday we headed to JoAnn's and got what I needed. Brooklyn had a lot of fun there. She picked out fabric for her trick or treating bag (which I still need to make) She loved that she got to make all the decisions for that. And then I was sewing like a mad women. Brooklyn really wanted to help so she got all my scraps and cut them up and taped them together to make whatever she wanted. This is her new favorite thing to do and has been doing it everyday since! We have Halloween stickers that they have been playing with all week, no picture though. And then we're counting the party as an activity too. :)
This is the fabric Brooklyn chose. She wanted purple handles and
Avery's will have green handles.
Close up. It's sparkly and has candy on it, so of course she loves it!
Merida and Bear cub
(Avery's is a work in progress. It got thrown together last minute)
Playing musical circle.
She won a cupcake.
Fishing
Aves wanted her face painted. She was so cute. She concentrated so hard. :)

This upcoming week our theme is Pumpkins!

A Book a Week: Halloween, Witches!
These were the books we used for Witch week. They are not about witches, but they say the word at least once :)

Getting ready to make us some witch fingers.
Adding the food color to our melted white chocolate.
Putting the pretzels in the mold.
(Brooklyn got to do pretty much everything for this and she LOVED that!)
Witch Fingers
Giving them a try.
I love how she is sitting :)
Only Brooklyn colored a picture. I let her do it during Avery's nap.
One day I surprised them with Pez and both of them were super excited.
I really wasn't sure what to do with the witch theme. I felt pretty lame, but the girls still enjoyed there Witch Week! We made witch fingers, colored a picture, and got a witch treat.

Halloween Package
Grandma and Grandpa Wotring sent the girls a fun Halloween package last week. Brooklyn loves receiving mail and this was a really fun package. There were a couple Halloween books, Halloween t-shirts, candy, flashlights with fun caps, and glow in the dark glasses.
All their goodies.
They really loved the flashlights.
The flashlights have different caps that make fun pictures. Bats, spiders, witches hat, etc
glow in the dark glasses.
THANK YOU GRANDMA AND GRANDPA!

"My PiO"
Avery has become obsessed with pillows. She tucks them behind her on the couch and if she's watching tv in our bed she has to prop herself up with a bunch. "I wan pilo" I can't really type how she says it, but trust me it's cute. This all started with a cheap little Ikea pillow that she now has to have in her bed.
So cute, but I don't know how she stays on it!
Green Eggs and Ham
Green Eggs and Ham by Dr. Seuss is one of my girls favorite books. I had seen on pinterest a cute green egg treat. One day a couple weeks ago the girls were just having a down day. They weren't really acting themselves and just laying on my bed watching a movie. I decided that day was perfect to surprise them. Huge hit! :)
They ate their green eggs while I read the book.
They are just melted white chocolate chips with a green m&m
Brooklyn approved.
I snapped a photo of Avery while I was reading.
So apparently Brooklyn took one of me :)
Book a Week: Halloween, Ghosts.
Our pancakes
The pancakes were a hit.
Bryant said we should cut up our spare pillowcases so they could be ghosts (he wants credit for the idea.) And I thought the girls would LOVE this. They were so excited. We put the pillow cases on them so we could see where to cut the arm holes and the holes for the face. They were all for. But then they both sorta freaked out. We cut one pillowcase open and neither of them wanted to wear it :) We forced Brooklyn to put it on and she had fun. Avery did not!

Brooklyn
Brooklyn was running around making ghost sounds and Avery was dying laughing!
Avery, can you see her terrified scream?
Making sugar cookies.
I love how Avery is just chillin' :)
Time to cut out the cookies.
I had just plopped out the cookie dough :)
Brooklyn really wanted to roll it out herself.
We decided to let Avery try, big mistake!
After cutting out the cookies we gave the girls a bath. I laid Avery down for a nap, and then Brooklyn got to decorate them.
She did a great job at putting the faces on them.
She would ice them and I would just smooth them out a little.
I can't believe how fast this cutie is growing up! Good job on the cookies Brookies!
I know this is late notice but this week are theme is Witches!
